NDOT TO ADD TURN POCKETS AT PYRAMID HIGHWAY INTERSECTION
Project Will Enhance Mobility and Safety at Pyramid Highway/Calle De La Plata Intersection
CARSON CITY, Nev. – The Nevada Department of Transportation will begin a road improvement project June 12 to install three turn pockets at the Pyramid Highway and Calle De La Plata intersection.
Drivers should expect roadway shoulder closures and reduced speed limits at the intersection through June. Overnight lane closures will then take place weekdays through July as the intersection is restriped and repaved.
Approximately 1,500-foot long turn pockets will be installed in three quadrants of the highway, providing safer and dedicated turn lanes between southbound Pyramid Highway and West Calle De La Plata, as well as from northbound Pyramid Highway to eastern Calle De La Plata.
The approximately $694,000 in improvements by contractor A&K Earth Movers, Inc. will improve the road for the nearly 11,000 vehicles which travel this area of Pyramid Highway daily.
