U.S. Highway 95 Ramp Improvements, Closures Begin June 26 in Las Vegas
LAS VEGAS, NEV. – The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) will begin $861,861 in ramp improvements to U.S. Highway 95 starting June 26 in Las Vegas. Aggregate Industries – SWC is the general contractor. The project calls for paving upgrades to the U.S. Highway 95 on- and off-ramps at Boulder Highway, Eastern Avenue and Las Vegas Boulevard. It will create smoother, safer driving surfaces. Ramps see between 9,700 and 17,700 vehicles daily on average. The job entails using 4,763 tons of asphalt or enough blacktop to pave 950 average-sized driveways. Work will occur nightly from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday evening through Friday morning, with construction occurring one ramp at a time starting with the Eastern Avenue northbound on-ramp. The project is estimated to finish by mid-August.
Motorists should use caution while travelling through the work zone, heed construction signage, and take alternate routes, if possible. NDOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but unscheduled construction changes, closures and restrictions are possible due to weather or other factors.
