Alta/Bonneville Closure in Downtown Las Vegas Three Weekends in June/July
LAS VEGAS, NEV. – The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) will close Alta Drive/ Bonneville Avenue between Desert Lane and Las Vegas Premium Outlet Drive in downtown Las Vegas during three weekends in June and July. The marathon closures will take place from 7 p.m., Friday through 6 a.m., Monday, during the following dates: June 9-12; June 16-19, and July 14-17. Additionally, Martin Luther King Boulevard at Alta Drive will be narrowed down to one lane in each direction from June 9-19.
The temporary closures are needed for the new Martin Luther King Boulevard alignment as part of Project Neon -- a nearly $1 billion 3.7-mile-long widening of Interstate 15 from the U.S. 95 interchange to Sahara Avenue.
Motorists should use caution while travelling through the work zone, heed construction signage, and take alternate routes, if possible. Check the Project Neon website (NDOTProjectNeon.com) or Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter pages (@NDOTProjectNeon) for up to date information. There is also a free smart phone and tablet app available, plus a hotline available in both English and Spanish at: 702-293-NEON (6366).
NDOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but unscheduled construction changes, closures and restrictions are possible due to weather or other factors. For the latest state highway conditions, visit nvroads.com or call 511 before driving.
