“Spaghetti Bowl” Ramp Closures Rescheduled to June 2-3 in Las Vegas
LAS VEGAS, NEV. – The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) has rescheduled two planned “Spaghetti Bowl” interchange ramp closures in downtown Las Vegas from June 1-2 to June 2-3. The Interstate 15 southbound ramp to U.S. Highway 95 northbound and Martin Luther King Boulevard in downtown Las Vegas will be closed from 8 p.m., June 2, until 8 a.m., June 3. In addition, the Martin Luther King Boulevard onramp to U.S. Highway 95 northbound will be closed during the same time frame.
The temporary closures are needed to install permanent freeway signs as part of Project Neon -- a nearly $1 billion 3.7-mile-long widening of Interstate 15 from the U.S. 95 interchange to Sahara Avenue.
Motorists should use caution while travelling through the work zone, heed construction signage, and take alternate routes, if possible. Check the Project Neon website (NDOTProjectNeon.com) or Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter pages (@NDOTProjectNeon) for up to date information. There is also a free smart phone and tablet app available, plus a hotline available in both English and Spanish at: 702-293-NEON (6366).
NDOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but unscheduled construction changes, closures and restrictions are possible due to weather or other factors. For the latest state highway conditions, visit nvroads.com or call 511 before driving.
