U.S. Highway 95 Upgrades at Cold Creek, Minor Traffic Delays in Clark County
COLD CREEK, NEV. – The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) is making a $457,000 upgrade to northbound U.S. Highway 95 near Cold Creek in Clark County. (Cold Creek is located about 40 miles northwest of Las Vegas in the Toiyabe National Forest). The project calls for partly filling in the earthen median to extend the left turn lane to Cold Creek Road by roughly 1,000 feet. Las Vegas Paving is the general contractor.
The work zone will squeeze northbound U.S. Highway down to one travel lane for about one-quarter mile near Cold Creek Road, resulting in possible travel delays. Construction is scheduled to start March 23, with anticipated completion by May. Work will occur from 6 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. daily, Monday through Friday.
Motorists should use caution while travelling through the work zone, heed construction signage, and take alternate detour routes, if possible. NDOT works with Waze to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but unscheduled construction changes, closures and restrictions are possible due to weather or other factors.
