Post Date:11/15/2019 11:04 AM

NORTH LAS VEGAS, NEV. -- The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) is expecting heavy traffic during “Aviation Nation,” which takes place from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., November 16-17, at Nellis Air Force Base in northeast Clark County. There is free public parking at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, 7000 N. Las Vegas Blvd., Las Vegas; buses will shuttle attendees to and from the air base. Motorists can expect the following traffic shifts:

Saturday-Sunday, November 16-17

  • Traffic will be shifted along Las Vegas Boulevard (State Route 604) from Sloan Lane to Interstate 15 in North Las Vegas from 4 a.m. until 8 p.m., November 16 and November 17.
  • Traffic will be shifted on the Interstate 15 northbound offramp to Speedway Boulevard in North Las Vegas from 4 a.m. until 8 p.m., November 16 and November 17.

“We’re expecting traffic congestion at Interstate 15 Exit 54 to Speedway Boulevard as well as Las Vegas Boulevard north during Aviation Nation weekend,” said NDOT spokesman Tony Illia. “We advise taking alternate routes, if possible. However, if travel along through those areas is unavoidable then please plan accordingly by budgeting additional drive time.”
