“Spaghetti Bowl” Nightly Ramp Closures September 23-25 in Downtown Las Vegas
LAS VEGAS, NEV. – The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) will close the U.S. Highway 95 southbound to Interstate 15 southbound ramp in downtown Las Vegas from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. nightly, starting the evening of September 23 and continuing through the morning of September 26.
The temporary closures are needed for placing a bridge deck overlay as well as other Project Neon-related punch-list work. The nearly $1 billion 4-mile-long Interstate 15 upgrade from the U.S. 95 interchange to Sahara Avenue was largely completed earlier this summer. Kiewit Infrastructure West Co. was the design-build general contractor, with Atkins North America as lead designer. A punch-list is a document prepared near the end of a construction project listing work not conforming to contract specifications that the general contractor must complete prior to final payment.
Motorists should use caution while travelling through the work zone, heed construction signage, and take alternate detour routes, if possible. Check the Project Neon website (NDOTProjectNeon.com) or Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter pages (@NDOTProjectNeon) for up to date information. NDOT works with Waze to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but unscheduled construction changes, closures and restrictions are possible due to weather or other factors.
