Wadsworth-Area Pedestrian/Bike Improvements Subject of Aug. 14 Public Meeting

Post Date:08/07/2019 2:55 PM
The Nevada Department of Transportation will host a public meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 14 to provide information on future pedestrian and bicycle safety improvements to State Route 447 (Washeim Street) in Wadsworth.
NDOT, in conjunction with the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe, are planning a new multi-use path, as well as enhanced crosswalks with flashing crossing lights, street lighting, school zone signage and roadside drainage, on sections of State Route 447, or Washeim Street, though central Wadsworth. The goal is to enhance safety, mobility and connectivity so pedestrians and bicycles can more securely access and share the road.
The public meeting will be held Wednesday, Aug. 14 between 4-7 p.m., with a formal presentation at 5:30 p.m., at Natchez Elementary School located at 1 State Route 447 in Wadsworth. The public is invited to attend any time during meeting hours to discuss questions and comments with project managers. Comments can also be made through Aug. 30 by e-mail at or by mail to Doug Fromm, NDOT safety engineering, at 1263 South Stewart Street, Carson City, NV., 89712.
