U.S. Highway 95 Ramp Closures Thursday Night in Northwest Las Vegas
LAS VEGAS, NEV. – The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) will close the Durango Drive onramp to northbound U.S. Highway 95 from 9 p.m. until 11 p.m., June 6, in northwest Las Vegas. Additionally, the Skye Canyon Park Drive onramp to southbound U.S. Highway 95 will also be closed from 11 p.m., June 6, until 4 a.m., June 7.
The temporary closures are needed for overhead freeway sign trusses as part of a $78 million, six-mile-long widening and upgrade of U.S. Highway 95 between Ann and Kyle Canyon roads that broke ground in January 2018. Las Vegas Paving is the general contractor. The project calls for expanding the highway from four to six lanes from Durango Drive to Kyle Canyon Road, constructing Elkhorn Road carpool access ramps and building a new diverging diamond interchange at Kyle Canyon Road. The project is scheduled to finish June 20.
Motorists should use caution while travelling through the work zone, heed construction signage, and take alternate detour routes, if possible. NDOT works with Waze to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but unscheduled construction changes, closures and restrictions are possible due to weather or other factors.
