I-515/Charleston Interchange Project Public Meeting May 23 in Las Vegas

Post Date:05/15/2019 9:31 AM

PURPOSE OF MEETING: The Nevada Department of Transportation, in cooperation with the Federal Highway Administration, has prepared an Environmental Assessment for a proposed Interstate 515 /Charleston Boulevard interchange project in Clark County, which will reduce crashes, congestion, and travel delays through improved traffic movements.

PROJECT BENEFITS: The proposed I-515/Charleston Boulevard interchange project will improve freeway ramps as well as Charleston between Honolulu Street and Sacramento Drive. Other planned upgrades call for adding one auxiliary lane in each direction along I-515 from Charleston Boulevard to Eastern Avenue, plus widening the interchange ramps and expanding the I-515/Eastern Avenue northbound exit ramp. Charleston, meanwhile, will be reconstructed and widened, increasing the number and length of turn lanes to/from Charleston Boulevard and the I-515 ramps, plus rebuilding sidewalks for handicap accessibility.
