LAS VEGAS, NEV. – The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) will make the following southbound U.S. Highway 95 Skye Canyon Park Drive ramp closures in northwest Las Vegas:
May 8-9 (Wednesday Night-Thursday Afternoon)
- Southbound U.S. Highway 95 to Sky Canyon Park Drive off-ramp will remain closed from 9 p.m., May 8, until 3 p.m., May 9, in northwest Las Vegas.
May 9 (Thursday Morning)
- Southbound U.S. Highway 95 to Sky Canyon Park Drive on-ramp will remain closed from midnight until 5 a.m., May 9, in northwest Las Vegas.
May 10 (Friday)
- Southbound U.S. Highway 95 to Sky Canyon Park Drive on-ramp will remain closed from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., May 10, in northwest Las Vegas.
The temporary closures are needed for ramp mill and paving work as part of a $78 million, six-mile-long widening and upgrade of U.S. Highway 95 between Ann and Kyle Canyon roads that broke ground in January 2018. Las Vegas Paving is the general contractor. The project calls for expanding the highway from four to six lanes from Durango Drive to Kyle Canyon Road, constructing Elkhorn Road carpool access ramps and building a diverging diamond interchange at Kyle Canyon Road. The project is scheduled to finish June 20.
Motorists should use caution while travelling through the work zone, heed construction signage, and take alternate detour routes, if possible. NDOT works with Waze to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but unscheduled changes, closures and restrictions are possible due to weather or other factors.
