Skye Canyon Onramp to SB U.S. 95 Closed May 5-7 in Northwest Las Vegas
LAS VEGAS, NEV. – The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) will close the Skye Canyon Park Drive onramp to southbound U.S. Highway 95 from 9 p.m., May 5, until 5 a.m., May 6, and again from 9 p.m., May 6, until 5 a.m., May 7, in northwest Las Vegas.
The temporary closures are needed for paving work as part of a $78 million, six-mile-long widening and upgrade of U.S. Highway 95 between Ann and Kyle Canyon roads that broke ground in January 2018. Las Vegas Paving is the general contractor. The project calls for expanding the highway from four to six lanes from Durango Drive to Kyle Canyon Road, constructing Elkhorn Road carpool access ramps and building a diverging diamond interchange at Kyle Canyon Road. The project is scheduled to finish June 20.
Motorists should use caution while travelling through the work zone, heed construction signage, and take alternate detour routes, if possible. NDOT works with Waze to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but unscheduled changes, closures and restrictions are possible due to weather or other factors.
