Interstate 15 Nightly Closures January 30–February 1 in Clark County
CLARK COUNTY, NEV. – The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) will close southbound Interstate 15 between Spring Mountain and Flamingo roads from 10 p.m., January 30, until 4 a.m., January 31, in Clark County. Additionally, the Spring Mountain Road on-ramp to southbound Interstate 15 will close from 9 p.m., January 30, until 5 a.m., January 31.
Also, northbound Interstate 15 between Russell and Flamingo roads will be closed from midnight, January 31, until 4 a.m., February 1. In addition, the Tropicana Avenue and Russell Road on-ramps to northbound Interstate 15 will be closed from 11 p.m., January 31, until 5 a.m., February 1.
The temporary closures are needed for Active Traffic Management (ATM) sign installation as part of Project Neon’s nearly $1 billion 4-mile-long widening of Interstate 15 from the U.S. 95 interchange to Sahara Avenue. Kiewit Infrastructure West Co. is the design-build general contractor, with Atkins North America as lead designer. Project Neon is 92 percent finished and scheduled for substantial completion in this summer.
Motorists should use caution while travelling through the work zone, heed construction signage, and take alternate detour routes, if possible. Check the Project Neon website (NDOTProjectNeon.com) or Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter pages (@NDOTProjectNeon) for up to date information. There is also a free smart phone app available, plus a hotline available in both English and Spanish at: 702-293-NEON (6366). NDOT works with Waze to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but unscheduled construction changes, closures and restrictions are possible due to weather or other factors.
