I-15 Lane Reduction, U.S. 93 Nightly Closure Sept. 10-12 in Clark County

Post Date:09/06/2018 3:10 PM

CLARK COUNTY, NEV. – The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) will reduce Interstate 15 at U.S. Highway 93 to one lane in each direction from 7 p.m. until 7 a.m. nightly, starting the evening of September 10 and continuing through the morning of September 12, in Clark County. Additionally, U.S. Highway 93 will be closed under Interstate 15 during the same days and times; however, all Interstate 15 ramps will remain open.

The temporary closures are needed for bridge construction as part of the new $58 million Interstate 15 / U.S. Highway 93 Garnet Interchange project that broke ground earlier this year. Plans call for building a modified diverging diamond interchange, plus widening U.S. Highway 93 from a two-lane highway to a four-lane divided highway for five miles from the new Garnet Interchange to just north of Apex Power Parkway, among other improvements. Ames Construction is the design-build general contractor, with Horrocks Engineers as lead designer. The project should reach substantial completion by December.

Motorists should use caution while travelling through the work zone, heed construction signage, and take alternate detour routes, if possible. NDOT works with Waze to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but unscheduled construction changes, closures and restrictions are possible due to weather or other factors. For the latest state highway conditions, visit or call 511 before driving.
