U.S. Highway 93 Closed at Interstate 15 Nightly August 13-15 in Clark County
CLARK COUNTY, NEV. – The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) will close U.S. Highway 93 at Interstate 15 (near Apex Industrial Park) from 7 p.m., August 13, until 7 a.m., August 14, and again from 7 p.m., August 14, until 7 a.m., August 15, in Clark County. However, all Interstate 15 ramps and lanes will remain open.
The overnight night closure is needed for bridge grouting as part of a new $58 million Interstate 15 U.S. Highway 93 Garnet interchange that broke ground earlier this year. Ames Construction is the design-build general contractor, with Horrocks Engineers as lead designer.
Plans call for building a modified diverging diamond interchange, plus widening U.S. Highway 93 from a two-lane highway to a four-lane divided highway for five miles from the new Garnet Interchange to just north of Apex Power Parkway, among other improvements. The project should reach substantial completion by December.
Motorists should use caution while travelling through the work zone, heed construction signage, and take alternate detour routes, if possible. NDOT works with Waze to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but unscheduled construction changes, closures and restrictions are possible due to weather or other factors.
