U.S. Highway 93 Road Upgrades, Traffic Restrictions July 16-25 in Lincoln County
PIOCHE, NEV. – The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) will make pavement improvements to a 19-mile-stretch of north and southbound U.S. Highway 93, also known as the Great Basin Highway, from July 16 to July 25 in Lincoln County. Work will occur between Mile Markers 139 and 158, roughly 30 miles north of Pioche, Monday through Friday, from 4 a.m. to 8 p.m.
“Crews are applying a chip and fog seal that helps prevent additional roadway cracking and deterioration,” said NDOT spokesman Tony Illia. “It’s a cost-effective maintenance solution that extends the life of the highway while also creating a smoother, safer driving surface”
A flagger and pilot cars will safely escort vehicles through the construction work zone. Motorists can expect up to 15-minute-long travel delays, as a result. No oversized loads will be permitted through during construction.
Motorists should use caution while travelling through the work zone, heed construction signage, and take alternate detour routes, if possible. NDOT works with Waze to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but unscheduled construction changes, closures and restrictions are possible due to weather or other factors.
