U.S. Highway 95 Lane Restrictions, Ramp Closures July 11-12 in Northwest Las Vegas

Post Date:07/10/2018 11:25 AM

LAS VEGAS, NEV. – The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) will make following traffic changes along U.S. Highway 95 from 9 p.m., July 11, until 5 a.m., July 12, in northwest Las Vegas:

  • Northbound U.S. Highway 95 will be reduced to a single lane at Ann Road, with a possible 30-minute stoppage from 9 p.m., July 11, until 5 a.m., July 12.
  • Southbound U.S. Highway 95 will be reduced to a single lane at Durango Road, with a possible 30-minute stoppage from 9 p.m., July 11, until 5 a.m., July 12.
  • Southbound Durango Drive and northbound Buffalo Road onramps will be closed from 9 p.m., July 11, until 5 a.m., July 12.

Restrictions are needed for overhead concrete work related to a $78 million, 6-mile-long widening and upgrade to U.S. Highway 95 between Ann and Kyle Canyon roads that broke ground earlier this year. Las Vegas Paving is the general contractor. The project calls for expanding the highway from four to six lanes between Durango Drive and Kyle Canyon Road, plus constructing Elkhorn Road carpool access ramps and building a diverging diamond interchange at Kyle Canyon Road, among other upgrades.

Motorists should use caution while travelling through the work zone, heed construction signage, and take alternate detour routes, if possible. NDOT works with Waze to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but unscheduled construction changes, closures and restrictions are possible due to weather or other factors. For the latest state highway conditions, visit nvroads.com or call 511 before driving.
