NDOT Announces Overnight Lane Closures on U.S. 395 Near Bordertown
CARSON CITY, Nev. – Overnight lane closures will begin tonight on U.S. 395 north of the Cold Springs interchange as the Nevada Department of Transportation installs roadway sensors to gather data on road usage.
Overnight single lane closures will take place on both directions of U.S. 395 north of White Lake Parkway near Bordertown Tuesday, June 26 and Wednesday, June 27 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly. Minor travel delays should be anticipated. Drivers are reminded to travel safely and follow reduced speed limits through the work zone.
The approximately $100,000 project by PAR Electric Contractors, Inc. will embed vehicle classification sensors into the freeway to automatically gather anonymous data on traffic counts and vehicle types. NDOT utilizes the data to plan for future transportation needs and construct appropriate, long-lasting pavements for the average type and weight of vehicles on the road.State road project information is available at nevadadot.com or by dialing (775) 888-7000.
