Lanes Reduced on U.S. 395 in North Valleys for Bridge Maintenance
CARSON CITY, Nev. – Overnight lane closures will take place this week on U.S. 395 near Golden Valley Road in the North Valleys for bridge surface improvements.
U.S. 395 will be reduced to a single lane in each direction at Golden Valley Road May 29 through June 2 from approximately 8 pm to 5:30 am nightly. Crews will resurface areas of the U.S. 395 bridge over Golden Valley Road for safer and smoother highway travel. The road work is scheduled for overnight hours to avoid impacting heavy evening commute traffic. The bridge resurfacing was originally scheduled to take place in early May, but was postponed due to rain.
The bridge improvements are part of NDOT’s program of renovating older bridges to help ensure the safety of the motoring public. NDOT’s dedicated bridge inspection and rehabilitation program has helped Nevada bridges to be named the nation’s best for five consecutive years.
Through the next five years, NDOT will repave and add additional designated merging lanes between freeway ramps on both directions of U.S. 395 from McCarran Boulevard to Lemmon Drive, as well as add an additional southbound travel lane. The Clear Acre Lane to southbound U.S. 395 ramp well also be extended.Updated state road conditions and construction information are available by visiting nvroads.com or dialing (775) 888-7000 before driving.
