Eastern Ave. / Civic Center Dr. Safety Improvement Public Meeting Feb. 7

WHAT: The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) invites the public to an informational meeting to solicit input for proposed safety improvements along Eastern Avenue / Civic Center Drive between U.S. Highway 95 and Cope Avenue in North Las Vegas and Las Vegas, including widened sidewalks, improved lighting, additional pedestrian crossings, raised medians, pedestrian flashing beacons, intersection configurations, and signal upgrades. The meeting will be conducted open house style with displays, maps and project staff.

WHEN: 4-7 p.m., Wednesday, February 7, 2018. A presentation will be made at 5:30 p.m., followed by a brief question and answer period.

WHERE: Arturo Cambeiro Elementary School, 2851 E. Harris Avenue. Las Vegas, NV 89101

WHY: This stretch of roadway has gone from a lightly traveled road into a densely developed urban corridor with several residences, schools and businesses, resulting in increased pedestrian and motorist traffic. The project will improve mobility, access and reliability while making critical safety enhancements.

WHO: The public is encouraged to attend. Comments may be submitted for the public record in writing at the meeting or verbally to a court reporter who will be present at the meeting.
