Single Lane Closures on U.S. 395 in Northern Reno for Road Surface Improvements
Overnight lane closures will take place Dec. 3 through mid-December on U.S. 395 between north McCarran Boulevard and Golden Valley Road as the Nevada Department of Transportation fills roadway cracking.
Sections of U.S. 395 between north McCarran Boulevard and Golden Valley Road will be reduced to one lane Sunday evenings through Friday mornings from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. through mid-December. As part of routine roadway maintenance, NDOT maintenance staff will fill cracks in the freeway surface to reduce water erosion and provide a smoother driving surface. Northbound lanes will be repaired first, followed by southbound. One lane in each direction will remain open at all times. The road work is scheduled for overnight hours to avoid impacting heavy commute traffic. Work is subject to change based on weather.
Currently, NDOT is also installing freeway ramp meters, electronic freeway message boards and more to enhance traffic flow and safety on U.S. 395 through the North Valleys. Through the next five years, NDOT will repave and add additional designated merging lanes between freeway ramps on both directions of U.S. 395 from McCarran Boulevard to Lemmon Drive, as well as add an additional southbound travel lane. The Clear Acre Lane to southbound U.S. 395 ramp well also be extended.
