Alta Drive, Bonneville Avenue Closed This Weekend in Downtown Las Vegas
LAS VEGAS, NEV. – The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) will close Alta Drive/Bonneville Avenue at Martin Luther King Boulevard from 7 p.m., Friday, August 11, until 6 a.m., Monday, August 14, in downtown Las Vegas. Additionally, Martin Luther King Boulevard will be narrowed down to one lane in each direction during the same time frame.
The temporary closures are needed for bridge construction as part of Project Neon – a nearly $1 billion 3.7-mile-long widening of Interstate 15 from the U.S. 95 interchange to Sahara Avenue. Motorists should use caution while travelling through the work zone, heed construction signage, and take alternate detour routes.
Check the Project Neon website (NDOTProjectNeon.com) or Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter pages (@NDOTProjectNeon) for up to date information. There is also a free smart phone and tablet app available, plus a hotline available in both English and Spanish at: 702-293-NEON (6366). NDOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but unscheduled construction changes, closures and restrictions are possible due to weather or other factors.
