Storm Water Management Program

Storm Water Management Program In response to the Nevada Department of Transportation’s (NDOT’s) request for a single National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Permit for storm water discharges from all NDOT properties, facilities, and activities, the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection (NDEP) issued to NDOT a statewide NPDES MS4 Permit (NV0023329) (Permit). NDOT has developed this Storm Water Management Program (SWMP) to comply with the Permit requirements and address storm water pollution related to highway planning, design, construction, and maintenance activities throughout the State. NDOT's Environmental Services Division administers the implementation of the SWMP including annual reporting. Each year, NDOT is required to report the status of the SWMP including any modifications, and the plans for implementing those modifications. They are due October 1 of each year and cover the previous fiscal year activity.

Don't pollute, Drains to Lake Mead Through the development and implementation of this SWMP, NDOT will create a comprehensive storm water program throughout the state. NDOT has organized this SWMP by the major program elements including a separate storm water management program specific to the Clear Creek watershed located in Clear Creek SWMP.

Appendix A contains a series of maps and spreadsheets that display and account for NDOT facilities relative to the various watersheds in the State. Due to the size of these files they are not available for download. Appendix B contains correspondence related information referenced in the sections below and is not available for download. For questions or concerns regarding NDOT's Stormwater Management Program, please contact the Department's Water Quality Specialist at (775) 888-7013.
