The planning goals of the NevPLAN are intended to guide the NDOT planning process. The following are goals within the NevPLAN. Please take a moment to view and select your favorite goals (three maximum). Thank you for your participation!
Select Planning Goals (three maximum)
To provide a statewide transportation system that adequately meets present and future accessibility and transit needs;
To assure the safety of the users of the statewide transportation system;
To protect and enhance the environment that is affected by the transportation system; to minimize and mitigate harmful impacts (landscaping and aesthetics);
To provide a statewide transportation system that is efficient and effective in the movement of people and goods;
To enhance the efficiency of the statewide system when appropriate, with the application of new technology;
To implement an effectively planned transportation system that recognizes the opportunity to increase tourism and economic development.
