1999 TRPA
Building and Erosion Control Award for Beautification Category
NDOT's North Stateline Beautification and Water Quality Improvement Project

NDOT was recognized for its unique partnership with 19 different federal, state and local agencies in the Lake Tahoe Basin.

1999 FHWA
Environmental Excellence Award for Water Quality
NDOT's 1996 Water Quality and Erosion Control Demonstration Project along two miles of SR 28 for Water Quality improvements.

1999 ASCE (Truckee Meadows Chapter)
Outstanding Achievements in Civil Engineering, Planning & Development
NDOT Environmental Improvement Master Plan at Lake Tahoe.

1999 ASCE (Truckee Meadows Chapter)
Outstanding Achievements in Civil Engineering Geotechnical - Phase I
SR 28 and US 50 Erosion Control Project.

Outstanding Achievements in Civil Engineering
Lake Tahoe Master Plan for Erosion Control and Storm Water Management.

NDOT received the ASCE 2002 Truckee Meadows Branch Best All-Time Public Works Project Award for the NDOT Lake Tahoe Master Plan Project. This award was presented for the Northern Nevada effort, which best exemplified outstanding achievement in the Public Works arena over the past 150 years. The Project was recognized for the ambitious scope, successful implementation, and national accolades for NDOT's work to protect the many resources of the Lake Tahoe Basin.

This project was coordinated with numerous agencies including the USFS, Douglas County, Tahoe Regional Planning Agency, Federal Highway Administration, Nevada Division of State Parks, Nevada Tahoe Resource Team, State Historic Preservation Office and the Washoe Tribe.
