Activities in the Basin

Lake Tahoe If you love the outdoors, Lake Tahoe is the place for you. One could say that Lake Tahoe is a hot spot for outdoor activities. Tahoe offers hiking, biking, boating, fishing, camping, horseback riding, snow skiing, snow boarding, Para-sailing, water skiing, golfing, using the trails, picnicking at the parks, white water rafting on the Truckee, and the list goes on and on.

NDOT is pleased to say that our roads offer the access needed to enjoy these outdoor activities on the Nevada side of the Basin. Wintertime or summertime, NDOT attempts to keep access to the Basin open all year round by maintaining its roads and making current construction activities and locations available to the public.

If you enjoy walking, hiking, mountain biking or horseback riding on the Tahoe Rim Trail, go to the following site for detailed information on where you can gain access to the trail: http://www.tahoerimtrail.org/trail_page.htm

On the other hand if you enjoy staying indoors, Tahoe also offers a bit for you too. You can play at the casinos, enjoy a stay at a resort hotel or eat at a great restaurant overlooking Lake Tahoe at sunset.

For more information on where you can go to enjoy all activities listed above, the following link gives further information: http://www.tahoesbest.com
