NDOT INSTALLS HIGHWAY ADVISORY RADIO IN LAS VEGAS
The Nevada Department of Transportation announced the installation the NDOT Highway Advisory Radio System in the Las Vegas area. The HAR will broadcast road information for motorists on AM frequency 1610. Currently the HAR reaches from Craig Road in the north and Tropicana in the south along U.S. 95 and I-15. Additional transmitters will be located near Blue Diamond and Jean later this week. NDOT HAR's each have an estimated broadcast radius of five miles and will keep motorists abreast of road construction and traffic information on Nevada and Federal Highways within the region.
The HAR's are the latest effort by NDOT to provide motorists with timely information about road conditions in Southern Nevada. Motorists have access to this information by dialing NDOT's toll free telephone number 1-877-NV ROADS (1-877-687-6237) or by accessing the NDOT Website at www.nvroads.com.
