Workshop Will Discuss Contractor Opportunities in Economic Recovery Transportation Projects
The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT), in cooperation with the Associated General Contractors, Nevada Chapter and the Nevada Procurement Outreach Program, will hold a May 26 workshop to provide information and networking opportunities for road construction contractors, subcontractors and vendors interested in securing work on transportation projects funded by federal economic stimulus funds.
The following topics will be discussed: • NDOT and local public agencies from northern Nevada will provide an overview of upcoming transportation construction projects. • NDOT will address outreach efforts to encourage contractors to partner with local Disadvantaged Business Enterprise firms and vendors that are interested in bidding for work on these projects. • NDOT and local public agencies will be available to discuss other major projects in Nevada. Representatives will also discuss how to approach NDOT, local public agencies and their traditional prime contractors about securing work on these contracts.
The workshop will be held from 7:30 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 26 in the Associated General Contactors, Nevada Chapter office at 5400 Mill Street, Reno. Following a 7:30 a.m. formal presentation, there will be an opportunity for subcontractors and suppliers to discuss businesses and services with prime contractors. Interested contractors and vendors can contact (775) 888-7497 to reserve seats or receive further information. Accommodations for the disabled can be made by contacting (775) 888-7171. A similar workshop was conducted April 8 in Las Vegas.
