Important: Please note that the State of Nevada has no Ports of Entry. Over-dimensional, non-reducible load permits are issued only from the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) Carson City Over Dimensional Permits Office.

Annual Permits Application Form Valid for one year from date of issue. Apply 30 days in advance by fax, by phone, or at the NDOT Over Dimensional Permits Office.

Valid for five days – one trip only. Apply at least two (2) business days in advance of your requirement. For next day service, apply before 4:15 PM by phone or at the NDOT Over Dimensional Permits Office.

Special Purpose or Super Load Permits

Permits are considered on a case-by-case basis for exceptionally large or heavy vehicle combinations or loads. Additional coordination within NDOT and with other agencies is normally required in these cases.

Route Restrictions. While the maximum dimensions shown apply to the basic Annual Permit and Single-Trip Permit, more stringent route restrictions may be in placed on the individual permit. Permittees are responsible for complying with any applicable instructions and route restrictions for Weight, Wide Loads, Long Loads, and Spring Thaw. See the appropriate NDOT instruction at Permit Conditions and Restrictions.
Weekdays, Weekends and Holidays refer to daylight hours only.
Darkness means one-half hour after sunset until one-half hour before sunrise.
Holidays are defined in NAC 484.560 and do not include hours of darkness.
Weekend travel with a Single-Trip Permit on I-80 between Sparks and the California state line or on I-15 between Las Vegas (exit 33) and the California state line must meet Holiday travel restrictions.
Overhang refers to that portion of the load that extends beyond the front edge of the truck or tractor or beyond the rear edge of the last cargo unit. The overhang distance used in the permit charts, the pilot car chart, and in regulations is the sum of both the front and rear overhang.
Manufactured and Mobile Home are permitted in accordance with NAC 484.525 (2b), NRS 484.762 and NRS 484.7625.
Multiple Trip - Limited Time Permits are issued only to self-propelled cranes as described in NAC 484.544. The Application for Annual Permit must be used.
