Prequalification:
For the purpose of soliciting proposals in accordance with 23CRF172, entitled "Administration of Related Service Contracts", the NDOT maintains lists of responsible prequalified firms that possess the ability to successfully perform needed services.
Solicitation for Prequalification is a biennial solicitation and has no cutoff date for submissions. The NDOT is always open to receipt of Prequalification statements for interested firms. If you are prequalified for the current two-year Prequalification period, you MUST renew prior to the period ending. Any prequalification submittals received after October 1, 2006 will automatically be considered for the next two-year prequalification period unless stated otherwise in your submittal.
The current Prequalification period expires on December 31, 2006.
On-Call Program:
The On-Call Program is used to facilitate the acquisition process should the need arise to use consultant services which fall within a designated discipline and when services are to be provided on short notice with minimum delay when services required are of a minor nature. The total amount of any On-Call agreement with a specific consultant for a specific discipline will not exceed $1,000,000.00 during an On-Call period. The On-Call Program is not meant to be interpreted as a promise of work.
Solicitation of the On-Call Program is a biennial solicitation and DOES have a cutoff time/date of 5:00 p.m., July 25, 2006.
Note: The On-Call Submittal date has changed from July 25, 2006 to August 8, 2006 by supplemental Notice#1 dated June 30, 2006).
Special Note:
In an effort to provide small firms the opportunity for Nevada Department of Transportation work the Department has established a pilot project under its Freeway and Non-Freeway discipline for Major and Minor work.
The Department will determine which on-call discipline list will be used on a project-by-project basis. The complexity of the overall project and the nature of the design services to be provided will be the key factors considered in our decision to use the Major or Minor list. Some examples of what may constitute a Major project include: projects requiring complex traffic control during construction, or projects that necessitate coordination with many different stakeholders. The decision will not necessarily include the project cost and schedule.
The consultant will not be allowed to submit proposals for both the Major and Minor lists. The consultant must choose either Major OR Minor. A firm cannot propose as a sub- consultant on one list AND as a prime consultant on the other list of the same discipline.
