Summerlin HOV (High Occupancy Vehicle) Flyover Connector
Construction Updates/Detours

Closures on U.S. 95 & Rainbow Blvd.
Beginning Friday May 18th, we will be closing a portion of Rainbow Blvd. and will detour U.S. 95 southbound in order to safely perform a concrete pour on the bridge decks for the Summerlin HOV (high occupancy vehicle) flyover bridge that is currently under construction.
The traffic reconfiguration will consist of one marathon weekend beginning Friday, May 18th at 9 p.m. and will be open to traffic again by 5 a.m. Sunday.
- Drivers heading south on U.S. 95 will be detoured through Rainbow Blvd.
- Motorists driving east on Summerlin Parkway will be diverted through Buffalo Ave., to connect to U.S. 95 NB.
- There will be no restrictions to connect from U.S. 95 northbound to Summerlin Parkway West.
- Northbound U.S. 95 will be restricted to one lane near the construction area.
- No restrictions from Summerlin Parkway east to U.S. 95 southbound.
- On-ramps from Lake Mead to U.S. 95 southbound will be closed. Drivers can detour from Lake Mead to Jones to U.S. 95.
- Silverstream Ave. will also be closed at Rainbow Blvd.
- Drivers that need to get across Rainbow Blvd. will be diverted through surface streets and marked detours.
Detours and delay times will be provided using dynamic message signs, construction signs and overhead signals. Drivers can take suggested detours or use their own preferred alternate routes to reach their destination. Pedestrians will be escorted at the Rainbow Blvd., bridge to be safely directed across.
Nevada Highway Patrol will be patrolling the area to ensure drivers use caution near the construction zone.
About the Project
The Summerlin HOV Flyover Connector is a $26 million project funded by the Nevada Department of Transportation, Federal Highway Administration and Clark County to connect an HOV only roadway and bridge to Summerlin Parkway and U.S. 95.
The new bridge will allow commuters driving on U.S. 95 West on the HOV lanes an opportunity to safely connect to Summerlin Parkway. This project prevents cars driving in the HOV lane from having to weave across four lanes of traffic on U.S. 95 to connect to Summerlin Parkway, helping to improve safety and reduce crashes.
The bridge will reach approximately 55 feet at its highest point down to U.S. 95 and will be 730 feet long.
