Transportation Enhancement Program

The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) is soliciting applications for projects to be funded through the Transportation Enhancement Program during the Federal Fiscal Years 2010-2011. Prospective applicants must submit an Intent-to-Apply Form no later than August 15, 2008. Applications for eligible projects may be submitted from September 15, 2008 through November 15, 2008.

The Transportation Enhancement Program funding application is a two-step process: Completion of the Intent-to-Apply Form and completion of an Application. Applications for transportation enhancement funding may only be submitted to NDOT by State agencies, eligible federal agencies, city, county governments or other eligible local public agencies (including general improvement districts), and Indian tribal governments. The due date for the Intent-to-Apply Form is August 15th. A mandatory Transportation Enhancement Application Workshop will be held in September. The due date for submittal of enhancement applications to NDOT is November 15th.

Proposed transportation enhancement projects must satisfy the following screening criteria to be eligible for prioritization:

• Projects must be related to surface transportation which includes all modes of transportation except aviation and military transportation.
• Projects must be selected from the twelve transportation enhancement activity categories listed in Section 1007c of the SAFETEA-LU.
