US 395 Southern Sierra Corridor Study

Map of study area

The U.S. 395 Southern Sierra Corridor is a critical transportation and economic link between Douglas County and the Truckee Meadows area; also acting as a major trucking route connecting eastern Sierra communities in California and Nevada. U.S. 395 is the only north–south highway that links Washoe County, Carson City and Douglas County and is vital to these communities and for tourism.

This corridor study provides planning-level analysis for transportation improvements proposed within the study area between 2007 and 2030. Initiated by the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT), this study evaluates the current traffic level of service on the roadway network and the need for future investments, based on the planned growth in population, employment and visitor traffic.
