TRANSPORTATION ALTERNATIVES PROGRAM

The transportation reauthorization Act Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century MAP-21
Please be advised that the Nevada Transportation Board approval for all Transportation Alternatives (TA) projects programmed after FY2012 remains contingent upon the future availability of TA funding.
This TA funding category combines the previous Transportation Enhancment (TE), Safe Routes to School (SRTS) and Scenic Byways programs into one program.
Introduction
Does your community need sidewalks or bike paths to link important destinations safely? Do you want to create a greater sense of place with improved connectivity and linkages for alternative transportation modes? The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) and Federal Highway Administration ( FHWA) share your interest in these projects and others that improve the transportation experience in your area and improve our quality of life. The TA program was developed to fund projects that go beyond where typical transportation projects usually stop.
